“BuDa” in Kannada stands for- the beginning, the ground and the base.
Everything is built upon that base.
BuDa is a unit of the ‘Janapada Vishwa Pratishtana’ trust and has been rooted in a strong tradition of research combined with traditional knowledge and folklore that continues today.
BuDa Folklore presently operates out of two locations: Honnavar and Angadibail (Ankola). The BuDa programs are conducted at either of these locations to experience the life and the culture of the local community, and to understand the interrelationship between people and nature in each place. BuDa Folklore believes in the experiential learning philosophy and has designed each of the programs whereby one can experience the rich natural and cultural heritage of the Uttar Kannada coastal belt.
BuDa urges more and more people to come, enjoy the festivals and initiatives, the place, go back to slow living and travel down the memory lane of the region.
